We exist to put that superpower in service of the causes that need it most — and the communities that deserve it.
Every social problem has a communication problem at its core. Design.Gives exists to close that gap.
Nonprofits and social enterprises are doing the most critical work on the planet — fighting climate change, expanding access to education, supporting mental health, protecting biodiversity. But too many of them communicate their mission with tools that don't match the urgency or importance of their work.
Meanwhile, the design community is full of talented, purpose-driven people who want to contribute — but lack an easy pathway to meaningful pro bono work. They want to give, but the barriers are high: vetting organizations, scoping projects, navigating logistics.
"Good design shouldn't be a luxury only well-funded organizations can afford. It's infrastructure for impact."
Design.Gives removes the friction. We vet organizations, define project scopes, handle the matching, and support both sides through delivery. Designers show up and do what they do best. Organizations get professional creative support they couldn't otherwise access.
The result is a flywheel: better design leads to more awareness, more donations, more volunteers, more impact. Every hour a designer gives multiplies through every person the organization reaches.
Great design isn't decoration — it's problem-solving. Every pixel we push should serve a human need.
Giving goes both ways. Designers gain experience and meaning. Organizations gain capacity and confidence.
Design excellence shouldn't require a six-figure budget. We level the playing field, one project at a time.
We share knowledge, celebrate each other's work, and grow together. No egos, no gatekeeping.
We track outcomes, not just outputs. Did the rebrand increase donations? Did the app improve literacy rates?
Quick fixes aren't our style. We build systems, not just assets — so organizations can grow independently.
We're a small, distributed team of designers, technologists, and nonprofit veterans who believe in the power of creative work to change the world.

Sofia posted in a design Slack community asking if anyone wanted to help a local food bank with their branding. 47 designers replied in 12 hours. The seed of Design.Gives was planted that day.
We ran our first cohort of 10 projects across environmental, education, and health nonprofits. The results were immediate — three organizations reported increased donor engagement after rebranding.
We launched our matching platform and expanded to 15 countries. Our community grew to 200+ designers. We shipped 60 projects and hired our first full-time team member.
The flywheel is spinning. Our community doubled, our project quality hit new highs, and we launched our Impact Report framework to track long-term outcomes.
Whether you have two hours or twenty, there's a project that needs your skills. Every contribution compounds.
